“Here at eden, we’d like to express how much designing this magazine has altered us as people.”
“I’ve started looking out for vegan ingredients in products as I know they’re generally better for you. Our nutritionist’s advice about the protein supplements was really beneficial.”
“I can’t believe how much fun it was making the jars! The ingredients were easy to source and I was surprised at how little time it took me. Definitely a good idea as I’m always on the go.”
“Well done, team!”
“Producing eden magazine has made me so much more aware of the products I use. Before researching, I had no idea about the extremity of animal cruelty all over the world.”
“So much work has gone into eden, and we’re all very proud of what we’ve produced. We planned on delivering more than just food articles, and with our ethical and cosmetics feature, I feel like we’ve achieved this.”
Welcome to the garden of vegan life. We’ve made it easy to live there.
It’s what it says on the tin: an eden.
A safe place and a secret paradise for vegans in and around Cardiff. And today’s their day – eden is launching.
After months of hard work, the team are ready to showcase their project for all to see.
Inspired by their own passion for clean, green healthy living, the magazine went from strength to strength after their focus changed from food to lifestyle. Before their plans were finalised, eden took it upon themselves to conduct their very own market research, asking friends, family and the wider world for their opinions on the vegan lifestyle.
Jimmy Pierson of the Vegan Society says, “The number of fully vegan eateries is growing fast – it’s wonderful to see. It’s also been great to observe so many high street chains embrace veganism.” While this may be true, we’ve still included our own map of vegan friendly restaurants in and around the city:
While veteran vegans can easily navigate their way around the supermarket, recent vegan convert Kieran Loveridge-Rees, 23, from Roath says that eden’s jar recipes are a great way to budget. “It’s hard to be vegan when you’re low on funds,” he said, adding, “I’m always looking for more affordable recipes.”
In this magazine, recipes aren’t the only thing that excites readers. The edition is an exclusive one-off special, packed full of carefully chosen content. Eden’s A5 size mini-magazine is filled with discussions and debates to get readers thinking and talking.
From this sensational editorial treat, readers are expected to keep the debate going online via eden’s social networks on Facebook, Twitter and their own website. Take a sneak peek into the making of the mag:
