An animation student at the University of South Wales has won a British Animation Sting Award in the best student category.
Jack D Evans was the joint winner of the gong after impressing judges with his animation of a twisted version of the nursery rhyme Little Bo Peep. The brief for the competition was to create a short animated feature containing one or more sheep.

The British Animation Awards are about promoting and championing UK animation in all its guises. The sting category invites animators to create an animation to amuse and delight both online audiences and the cream of the industry who attend the awards.
The 20-year-old final year student’s short follows Bo Peep who has lost her sheep and searches high and low to find it. He was also invited to the awards ceremony, held at the British Film Institute in London on March 8, and was very pleased to receive the honour.
Jack said: “I really am delighted to win the award. The tutors here at uni have really helped me gain more knowledge, skills and experience, particularly in terms of storytelling and how characters move. The course has fantastic staff, technicians, equipment and facilities, all of which I was able to use to help create the winning sting at the British Animation Awards.”
