Crash on King Edward VII Avenue, Cathays

Two vehicles have collided outside the Bute building on King Edward VII avenue.

The cause of the accident is unknown but the two vehicles involved are a blue Volkswagen Polo and a grey Renault Modus. Fire, Police and Ambulance are on the scene but it is unknown as of yet if there are any casualties.

Fire crews are now using cutting equipment to remove the top of the Volkswagen. A policeman on the scene has informed us that this is for precautionary measures incase of neck injuries. The road is closed in all directions.

UPDATE: The incident happened at around 3:45. Three fire engines, two ambulances, one unmarked police car, one police motorbike were all in attendance. Two people have been taken away in an ambulance. Police have left the scene.
