Soaring Bluebirds aim for double home delight

CARDIFF City will look to follow up their midweek home win against Bolton as they host Middlesbrough this Saturday.

First-half goals from new signing Armand Traore and captain Sean Morrison saw Cardiff keep in touch with the automatic promotion places.

Neil Warnock’s side sit in fourth, just one point off second-placed Aston Villa.

The Bluebirds have gone five games unbeaten in the league, and haven’t lost since New Year’s Day.

Middlesbrough have been inconsistent, winning just two of their last five games. Tony Pulis’s side sit ninth in the table, four points off the play-offs.

Boro beat struggling Reading 2-1 in midweek, despite a late penalty miss by Britt Assombalonga.

Team News:

Craig Bryson made his return from an Achilles problem after playing for the club’s under-23 on Thursday afternoon. Kadeem Harris and Matthew Connolly also featured in the match, however Saturday may be too soon for a first team return.

January loan signing Jamie Ward will miss out, after limping out of the win against Bolton after just nine minutes. Aron Gunnarsson and Danny Ward are still injured, and will not feature.

Predicted line ups:

When they met last: Middlesbrough 0-1 Cardiff City (Saturday, October 21, 2017)

A late Joe Ralls penalty gave the Bluebirds a win when the sides met at the Riverside in October. The result saw Cardiff maintain their pressure on leaders Wolves, and plunged Garry Monk closer to the exit door.
