Bump Art creator Rebecca Watson talks through a typical session:
“It is advised to have bump painting done in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy as it is a larger canvas for me to paint but at a client’s request it can be done before.
“A bump painting session would begin with Alicia and myself going to the clients home, where we believe they are more comfortable, I would begin the discussed design, Alicia may take photos of me painting if the client wishes, once complete Alicia sets up her mini-studio and begins the photo shoot.
“Regarding designs, I will always discuss with the client before the appointment to ensure the right design is chosen. I’ll ask if she has a design in mind, or the baby’s nursery theme, hobbies/interests etc. then ill sketch it roughly at home. I have a few of my own ideas in case the client is unsure what design to choose.”

Face and body painter Rebecca Watson wants to help expectant mothers embrace pregnancy with her unique bump pampering sessions.
Rebecca has always had a keen interest in body painting and set up her own business The Face Fairy. After painting her own bump during pregnancy she discovered its relaxing properties and teamed up with local photographer Alicia Roberts to create Bump Art.
Mothers-to-be can pick a pre-designed or tailor made composition for their bumps before enjoying a few hours painting and a photo shoot.
“We have only just launched Bump Art in the last month,” says Rebecca, “so it’s a very new venture.” Bump Art is one of a kind and is offering Christmas vouchers and event evenings as it gets the ball rolling.
