Cocoa grower and chocolatier Hotel Chocolat will be opening its doors this Friday in Cardiff. It’s the first Welsh outpost for this burgeoning company, with a swish chocolate tasting party on 6 December to mark the occasion.
Hotel Chocolat say, “our mantra is less sugar more cocoa, so that the cocoa really sings out” and that much is evident in their earthy bars and selection boxes.
Though now 24 years old, the explosion of online retailing has seen the company rise to consumer fame for their varied hues of fine chocolate, with its Chocolate Tasting Club growing to over 100 thousand members. The result of their artisanal approach is a gamut of chocolates you’ll need a lot of money and appetite to chomp through.
