Event Information
The Red and Black Umbrella Collective took over The Tredegar Hotel in November 2011 and transformed the building into their very own social centre. The building was formerly a popular pub for the residents of Adamsdown before it closed down.
Anyone wishing to play at the event, or run a stall or workshop is advised to get in touch with the group on 07596821368. And any help with cooking or supplying skipped or vegan food would be much appreciated.
A donation upon entry to the event is advised, but no one will be refused entry if they cannot pay.
The Red and Black Umbrella Collective will host a two-day event to celebrate their second anniversary at The Tredegar Hotel in Adamsdown.
The group, who are also known as The Brolly, will put on an array of activities and entertainment on Friday 1 November and Saturday 2 November to celebrate.
A resident of the squat, who did not wish to be identified said, “This event is our chance to celebrate two years of avoiding eviction, as the space this building has provided has been invaluable to so many people.”
Reading-based punk band Will Tun and the Wasters will headline, and money will be raised for both the Cardiff Squatters Network and Freedom Press Bookshop, which lost around 700 books after being petrol-bombed earlier this year.
