What Kate Baked’s Kate Harries said, “I’m really pleased that food and drink bloggers, who strive to share their food-related experiences and recipes in a fun, exciting way, are being acknowledged. I think the inclusion of this category illustrates the enjoyment people experience through food, drink and blogging about it all.
“Wales has such an abundance of quality ingredients, delicious producers, world-class restaurants, cafes and bars. This, combined with a tradition of extremely tasty recipes, has led to bloggers with a love of Welsh food and drink wishing to write about it all! “
Nicola Tudor, aka CardiffBites, added, “I am delighted that food and drink bloggers in Wales have been given their own category this year. This is something I was very vocal about in last years awards as there are so many great bloggers in Cardiff writing on this subject, let alone the rest of Wales.
“Whatever happens on the night, this has helped raise the profile of food and drinks bloggers in Wales which can only be a good thing.”
Oliver Hurley, one half of Pint of 45, added, “In hindsight it was an oversight not to include a food and drink section, the closest thing last year being the Lifestyle section acting as a catch-all. The fact they have included it this year is great, there are a lot of food and drink blogs out there as demonstrated by the long-list, which was quite substantial. They’ve recognised that it was a mistake not to do it last year and they’ve rectified that now.”
