Running till 31 October, Cardiff is The Caravan Gallery’s third stop on their national Pride of Place Project tour across the UK. As part of the showcase, a book documenting the entire event will be released at a later date. The People’s Wall invites locals to share objects that could be souvenirs from Cardiff. Visitors write down their fondest and most unusual experiences on a hand drawn map called The People’s Map.
This project is supported by an Arts Council England Strategic Touring Grant and in partnership with NGCA, Impressions Gallery, Ffotogallery, Museum of Lancashire, mima and Solent Showcase.

What does Cardiff mean to you? Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale of The Caravan Gallery take a jab at answering this question in their latest exhibit at The Abacus.
The Cardiff Pride of Place Project is a participatory exhibition that invites locals to showcase their city’s true character.
“This is a great opportunity for the people of Cardiff to show off their local knowledge and creativity,” say the duo.
The exhibit transforms The Abacus into an alternative visitor information centre with images by The Caravan Gallery and other memorabilia that is reminiscent of Cardiff. Encouraging visitors to share Cardiff-centric creations and experiences on The People’s Wall and The People’s Map, the exhibit (successfully) attempts to engage in dialogue about the city.
