Meant to draw in people at any time, 29 Park Place features a specific menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. The menu also features some interesting sides for cocktails.
Besides the pool table, customers can play video games including Sheep, FIFA, Sega’s Mega Drive, and more. The games are quite a big draw says Mark Holmes, manager at 29 Park Place.
While live concerts are also held here, the usual musical ambience is rock and jazz from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

29 Park Place has replaced Bacchus at the eponymous address just opposite the National Museum of Wales, since 19 September.
As manager, Mark Holmes puts it, “(It is) generally a place to relax, a home away from home.” The old-school lounge is meant to appeal to everyone from students and families to people who work nine to five .
Formerly the Cardiff Arts Institute and Bacchus bar and lounge, the opening of 29 Park Place was in part due to a £200,000 loan from a Welsh SME Investment Fund
Some of the largest changes compared to Bacchus in this three-story 4,361 sq ft Victorian property come in the form of the food and cocktails offered.
Now open from 8 am to 1am, the lounge bar offers all three meals and even has a brunch menu (see sidebar).
Owned by Jon Saunders, also the former owner of Ten Mill Lane, the establishment has VHS tapes of 90s movies to watch, Xbox games, a pool table and a library to enjoy.
