Whitchurch Police brewing up ways to engage with
the community
Whitchurch Police Station is opening its doors and putting the kettle on so community members can meet their neighbourhood policing team.
Cuppa with a Copper runs every Thursday afternoon and provides an informal environment for anyone to drop by and discuss issues of concern, as well as having a brew and a biscuit.
Bill Lawrence, Chairman of South Wales Neighbourhood Watch Cardiff said, “What we’re saying is, come and meet your local policing team. Some people come with problems and others just say hello.”
There’s been a range of issues discussed at the sessions, ranging from parking concerns and rubbish, to drunken disorder. Bill praised the local officers and said it’s a highly beneficial initiative.
Cuppa with a Copper is expanding and on the lookout for suitable venues.
