You’d be forgiven for not associating shopping with literary calm, but St David’s is hosting Wales’ first pop-up Literature Lounge
Until October 30, Literature Wales have taken an empty unit in the Eastside Restaurant Quarter of St David’s shopping centre and transformed it into a literary oasis.
The pop-up Literature Lounge, the first of its kind in Wales, will host a smorgasbord of literary events including poetry, workshops, games, readings and performances.
Lleucu Siencyn, Acting Chief Executive at Literature Wales commented that Literature Wales are always looking for innovative ways to engage with the public, and they had received a brilliant reaction to the project with curious shoppers popping in every day.
October 30 isn’t the end for the Lounge; there are plans to take the project on tour and for a Literature Lorry, able to reach even the most remote locations.
