5 simple tips for reducing your carbon footprint
1. Recycle your plastic bags or invest in a bag for life. This should be easy thanks to the new bag charge law in Wales.
2. Turn your heating in your house down to low. This will not only save energy but could also save you up to £49 a year!
3. Invest in energy saving light bulbs, they use 80% less energy than regular ones and again will save you money.
4. Buy local produce. Not only will you be supporting Wales’s economy but you’ll be significantly lowering your carbon footprint as the produce will not have travelled by plane.
5. Walk! Instead of jumping in your car to run a simple errand, why not walk it? Its great exercise will save you money and lower your carbon footprint. Simple.

The LCRI currently employs130 research staff from six welsh universities with the aim to develop low carbon technologies to benefit the country. Helen John, LCRI’s Industrial Liaison Officer explains, “LCRI is committed to developing, supporting and creating long term sustainable economy for Wales in the low carbon arena”.
