Wales’ biggest road run raises over £1 million for charity

Record numbers ran the Cardiff Half Marathon this year despite unseasonably hot weather.
Fifteen-thousand people ran the rerouted 13.1-mile race around the capital on Sunday 16 October, raising over £1 million for charity.
First-time marathon runner Richard Graefe raised over £10,000 for the children’s ward of a South Wales hospital. The 40-year-old Monmouth carpenter, whose twin sons were born prematurely and received long-term care at Abergavenny’s Nevill Hall Hospital, says the run for him “was more about celebration, to say thank you.”
Also crossing the finish line was 23-year-old student Charlotte Kelloway and her 60-year-old father Bill. It was the second year the father/daughter team ran together.
