“Thirty years later NoFit State still believes that the total outweighs the sum of the parts. The company lives together, works together, eats together, laughs and cries together – travelling in trucks, trailers and caravans and living and breathing as one community. This is what creates the spirit that is NoFit State and gives the work its heart and soul.
Contemporary circus combines live music, dance, stage design, text, and film with traditional circus skills. It is rooted in the travelling community who turn up, pitch a tent, drum up an audience, and then leave with only flattened grass and a memory to show they were ever there. The circus are the strangers who live amongst us – and if we run away to join them we are throwing off our inhibitions, our conventions, the rules of settled society. We are taking to the road knowing that there is no destination – only a journey.”

Surprise your guests with a fun filled stag or hen party that includes a workshop on circus skills this winter!
With Christmas close at hand, how can Christmas weddings be far off? NoFit State Circus is offering a special package particularly for stag and hen parties which will teach the participants different circus skills.
The circus package aptly called ‘Stag and Hen dos’ has a variety of circus skills to offer. Bethan Touhig-Gamble, Head of Development of NoFit State Circus said,“Some want the rush of stepping off the flying trapeze or learning to crack a whip, others go to giggles and camaraderie of hula hoops, hat manipulation and acro-balance.”
The circus offers prices for both groups and individuals with the minimum price per person starting from £20. Often, people who don’t know each other have the opportunity to socialise in the relaxed setting before heading off to the wedding.
Located on 4 Elms Road, they hold the only flying trapeze rig in Wales which is part of their most popular hen package. Susanna, who had been a part of one of the packages said,“Amazing day!!!! Just attended a circus day for a hen party, so much fun. Thank you to the amazing staff, they made the day so special.”
The workshops can be 2 or 3 hours in length depending on the preference of the customer. To add to your big day, the professional tutors at the workshop can also teach you a routine which you perform at the site of the wedding itself! On the other hand, for people who are less into physical activities, the circus offers a range of magic tricks. Who would not want to leave with a few tricks up their sleeve?
So this winter just before the wedding bells sound, think out of the box and treat your guests to a fun evening. And who knows, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tieing the knot, Cardiff might be lucky enough to be graced with their presence when they plan their parties!
