Caerphilly Leisure Centre hosts lantern making workshops
Artists will be on hand this December to help people create lanterns in preparation for the upcoming River of Light Parade.
There will be workshops on 10, 11, 17 and 18 December in the run up to the annual street parade through Caerphilly, giving people the chance to custom make their own lantern that they can then take with them on the procession.
The workshops will be attended by a group of professional artists from Newport-based company Malarkey, who will be on hand to offer advice and give guidance on lantern making.
Event officer Stacy Francis emphasised the social element of each workshop and the range of ages catered for.
“The event is a free run, community spirited event encouraging art skill among children and adults,” she said.
