The Trips
Welsh Road Trips offers a unique kind of holiday experience. Most people choose to stay in each location for two nights and travel between the three locations either on foot, by bicycle or by car.
The project started out of a Powys tourism pilot project, which ceased in February 2010. Having worked on the business since April 2011, it officially opened in November 2011.
The business aims to include the local community and to promote Mid Wales and the local companies in their area.
Run by Ian Foster, proprietor of the Westview Guesthouse, Tim Withers, of the Old Vicarage, and Roger Stevens of Lasswade Country House, Road Trips Wales also offers charging points for electric cars and bicycles. Apart from the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, they are the only place in Wales to offer this.
Road Trips Wales have a special launch price of £40 per person per night or £80 per room per night for anyone who takes a trip before the end of January (excluding December 20-January 3). Bookings can be made here and more information can be found here.
