People Dancing launches in Wales

The first International People Dancing conference launches this week at Wales Millennium Centre, November 13-15 2014. The conference will bring together practioners of community dance from 22 countries to share best practice for engagement in dance.

The Foundation for Community Dance (FDC)  is promoting the conference. FDC believes dance can transform the lives of individuals and communities.

Chief Executive Chris Stenton said, “Our vision is for a world where dance is part of everyone’s life and our mission to make engagement with dance important to individuals, communities and society.”

The Foundation works with, and on behalf of artists, organisations and teachers involved in leading, delivering or supporting community and participatory dance. Their membership reaches in excess of 4,500 dance professionals worldwide.
