FOUR ELMS
The Four Elms, situated on Four Elms Road in Adamsdown, Cardiff, will house NoFit State’s new purpose-designed circus space.
The grade 2 listed building was formerly the church schoolrooms of Trinity Methodist Church, which is located next door.
The redevelopment started in October 2012 and work is due to be completed this month, with the new circus space opening before Christmas.
The renovations have been made possible by a mix of public and trust funding, including donations made through the Raise the Rig Campaign.
Money raised by the Walk the Wire event will sponsor the creation of a metal rig from which all trapeze, ropes and high wires will hang when the Four Elms centre opens.
A unique high wire event is offering daredevils in Cardiff the chance to scale new heights this month and raise vital funds for a new circus centre.
Walk the Wire, organised by NoFit State Circus, will take place on November 17 at the company’s base in John Street, Cardiff.
The event will run from 11am to 4pm and participants will receive expert tuition from trainers before scaling the high wire.
Registration costs £25 and sponsorship money raised will go towards funding redevelopment work at the Circus’ new space, Four Elms.
Betti Hunter, development and marketing associate for NoFit State, said: “I’m so excited about Walk the Wire. It’s the first time we’ve organised a fundraising event like this and already the response from the public has been incredible.”
