The Wendy House offers a 5ft wide cinema screen and they will be able to project standard 8mm, Super 8 and 9.5mm film as well as 16mm silent film. Video playback will be available on Hi8, VHS and Mini DV players.
Cine Nostalgia is dedicated to transferring amateur films and obsolete video formats onto digital/ DVD. Harley Jones was trained as a film editor at BBC Ealing. He, alongside his wife Vivienne, worked with John Grierson on his series “This Wonderful World” before moving to lecturing in cinematography at Newport Film School. He has made documentaries as an independent filmmaker for S4C.

The tenth anniversary of an annual celebration of amateur filmmaking comes to Cardiff.
Home Movie Day encourages people to bring old home movies, be it film, tape or DVD, and have their memories projected by film experts.
Alongside venues worldwide, Home Movie Day Wales takes place on 20 October at The Wendy House, Rhiwbina and is presented by Harley Jones of Cine Nostalgia. Having been involved with film production since 1960, Jones says people will have an opportunity to transfer their films to digital for free and he intends to give “advice on the storage and preservation of films and tapes.”
Focusing on local history, confirmed films include: Kevin Nunn’s “Opening of Severn Bridge (1966)” and Mike James’s Super 8 footage of Bedwas Carnival, 1981.
