An exhibition of paintings, ceramics and jewellery showcases the artwork of Wales’s most celebrated artists as well as some newcomers
Visitors admire impressive paintings and hand-crafted jewellery pieces
An exhibition has come to Cardiff which celebrates the artwork of renowned and emerging Welsh artists and presents beautiful pieces of art available for purchase.
More than 60 artists came together for this year’s Winter Exhibition at the Albany Gallery which includes some of the regular gallery’s exhibitors and new talented painters and craftspeople.
The current show at the Albany Gallery runs between 9 November and 13 January and exhibits paintings from breathtaking Welsh landscapes to still life drawings.
The Albany Gallery’s owner Mary Yapp said, “This is a great opportunity to buy work by your favourite artists and also to discover new art that you love. I am very proud of all our exhibitors – they have produced some truly excellent work for this show.”
Mark Morris has been exhibiting at the gallery for the last four years and said that he preferred to exhibit his work there due to it being one of the best commercial galleries associated within Wales.
“The things that inspire my work are my Welsh roots and I try to capture something within which I see beauty,” Mark said. “I find it awe inspiring and the challenge is trying to capture this feeling in a painting.”

Other well-known exhibitors are the North Wales-based landscape watercolourist William Selwyn and West Wales-based painter Tim Fudge who creates colorful and breathtaking paintings of the Celtic coastline.
Visitors can also see the new work from Cardiff-based Gwyn Roberts who represents the beautiful Welsh mountains from sketches to charcoal drawings.
Two artists, Chris Prout and Martin Llewellyn, are joining again after holding a few successful shows at the gallery earlier this year. Chris is a painter of expressive landscapes, seascapes and architecture and Martin contributes to the show with a number of still life drawings.
People wishing to purchase anything from the exhibition will be able to take artwork away on the same day.
