Artist couple Robert McPartland and Stephanie Tuckwell are displaying their work together at a joint exhibition.
The Cardiff-based artists’ work will be shown at the Oriel Kooywood Gallery from 5 November to the 28 November.
Both graduates of Goldsmiths College in London, the couple have individually won their fair share of awards.
Robert was the recipient of the 2010 National Open Art Competition regional prize for Wales, whereas Stephanie was the winner of the University of Glamorgan’s prestigious Art Purchase Prize for 2008.
Whereas Robert’s bright oil paintings consist of inanimate objects, Stephanie’s monochrome mixed media seems to focus on more ambiguous shapes.
Robert says, “My paintings are inspired by the colours used by Matisse and Sean Scully and the simple still life paintings of Giorgio Morandi.”
