Cardiff Open Studios breaches the gap between artists and the public this weekend. The ambitious event invites us into local artists’ studios to discuss their works and witness the artistic process first-hand. As part of Cardiff Contemporary 2014, in-keeping with the theme ‘Reveal/Conceal’, twenty-six local artists will reveal their inner sanctums of creativity.
With spaces to view all over the city, the organisers have created an interactive map of the city and artistic hotspots. Ruth Cayford of Cardiff Council says, “The Open Studios are a wonderful opportunity to meet some of the city’s most interesting characters.” You can take in the studios at a leisurely pace, or, for art enthusiasts, there is time to immerse oneself in local artistic production.
