The exhibition
The Lightbox commission is part of a larger exhibition, entitled A Fire in the Master’s House is Set. The exhibition extends into the whole of the arts centre, including the café and foyer area.
According to Chapter the title is a lyric taken from a Rage Against the Machine track called New Millennium Homes, from their protest album Battle of Los Angeles. The lyric gives the impression of a feeling of anticipation, with the stage being set for an event to happen.

Lightbox commission for Welsh artist at Chapter Arts Centre
Chapter Arts Centre is currently displaying a commission by the Cardiff born artist, Melanie Counsell. The commission is part of an exhibition entitled A Fire in the Master’s House is Set.
The work itself is a lightbox commission placed in the windows at the front of Chapter. The violet wash of colour casts a hue into the interior of the centre, establishing a mood of anticipation which is reflected in the internal gallery exhibition. It also features an image of a hand holding two tablets, about which the purpose is unknown.
As an internationally renowned artist, Melanie has won several awards, including The Arts Foundation Award, and displays work worldwide. The exhibition and Melanie’s commission will be at Chapter Arts Centre until 31 January 2012.
