The art and music extravaganza, Crunch, will return to Hay-on-Wye, offering the perfect remedy for winter blues and festival withdrawal symptoms.

Crunch runs between November 18-20 and will feature an eclectic mix of emerging talent, including next big thing Mara Carlyle, Cardiff pop-folk artist Siôn Russell Jones and Mercury-nominated British Sea Party.

The festival’s organised by The Institute of Art and Ideas. “It was originally just visual arts but we wanted to broaden the remit,” explained Bianca Bonomi of IAI. Now in its fourth year, it’s predicted to attract 4,000 people.

Many performances will take place in The Globe, a converted Methodist chapel. Bianca said, “It’s nice to just strip it back and have that interaction with people.”

“November’s a dead time so it’s nice to give people a focus.”
