Silver screen enthusiasts are brushing up on their television trivia as a new independent film festival arrives in Cardiff.
Presented by film and television company It’s My Shout, Film Fest Cymru is a four-day programme of lectures, workshops and studio tours, showcasing creativity behind the camera.
“We started the festival thinking we’d be targeting It’s My Shout’s trainees, but interest has really grown,” said Efa Thomas, Film Fest Cymru’s project manager. “You see so many creative ideas in films. This is where they begin.”
Festival cameos include concept artist Matt Savage, who worked on bestselling films Les Misérables and The Dark Knight, and Torchwood’s director of photography, Rory Taylor.
The festival closes with an awards ceremony in North Wales, celebrating new cinematic talent.
