New exhibition launches at Giles Gallery

These include an art club, as well as taking bookings for other art and craft courses for artists in the local area.
Craft artists have collaborated to bring the best of local talent, to a gallery just outside Cardiff.
The Made in the Valleys exhibition opens this week at the Giles Gallery in Pontyclun. The exhibition gives artists and craft makers a platform to promote their extraordinary work to the public.
Twenty one local artists are displaying a wide diversity of work, ranging from sculpture and painting to textiles and photographs.
Textile artist and designer Melissa Warren is curating the exhibition. She said,”We have tried for something really different that makes people sit up and think.” Melissa also has her own studio – Lemon Blues – where she runs craft workshops and art clubs for the local community. She is a passionate champion of local arts education for all.
