Lead singer Gareth Paisey explains why you should be there for his band’s Cardiff comeback at Clwb Ifor Bach:
“We’ve played at Clwb many times, naturally. It’s always a pleasure to return, which is why we’re choosing to go there when we could likely play somewhere a bit bigger in Cardiff.
“That hot, sweaty box of a room will be the perfect place for us to unleash a year’s worth of pent up aggression. We can’t wait!”
Los Campesinos! released their fifth album on Tuesday, marking an optimistic turnaround for the local indie pop band.
No Blues is the follow up to 2008’s Hello Sadness, an album that grappled with themes of depression. But this time around, the Cardiff University graduates were more focused on having fun with their music, as singer Gareth Paisey explains.
“It was the most enjoyable time we’ve had recording an album, and I think that’s reflected in how it turned out,” he said. “It’s more melodic and bigger sounding than ever.”
Fans from Cardiff will have the chance to hear the new tracks in a live setting on 5 December, when Los Campesinos! will play their first headline show in over a year at Clwb Ifor Bach.

The second track from No Blues, ‘What Death Leaves Behind’ isn’t as morbid as its title suggests. Download it free from the band’s Soundcloud.
