A Cardiff open mic venue is to release a charity album, featuring songs from regular performers. Face 11, on Cathays Terrace, plans to launch the album in December and is hoping to raise money for Cancer Research Wales.
The album, titled Unplugged Sessions, brought together an entirely local team with local artist, Valkyrie Tattoo Studio’s Justin Oldham, creating the cover art.
Spokesperson Jessica Hinton says the venue has been “overwhelmed” by the number of talented local musicians that have attended Face 11’s nights. She adds, “We really wanted to do something to encourage the local music scene in Cardiff, and to give some exposure to talented musicians.”
Unplugged Sessions will be released on a limited number of CDs but will also be available on iTunes.
