Watch the fairytale come to life in an all-new adaptation
A brand new installation of the classical ballet Beauty and the Beast by director Darius James will be shown at the Wales Millennium Centre this weekend.
Alongside an original adaptation and new costumes, the Ballet Cymru production features a new score by Welsh composer David Westcott. While the plot will remain true to the Grimm-brothers’ original story of a merchant promising his youngest daughter to a beast in an enchanted garden, the adaptation will feature a modern mixture of dance, music and visual projection.
The performance of Beauty and the Beast is part of Ballet Cymru’s autumn tour, which also features another production called Under Milk Wood. The production tour started in Keswick in April, informs Jenny Isaacs, Administration Assistant at Ballet Cymru.
