Rubicon Presents…Song & Dance
The event is taking place on 29 November at The Gate Arts Centre on Keppoch Street. The show will begin at 7:30pm with concession tickets costing £4.50 and standard tickets at £6. Tickets can be bought from The Gate’s website.

With 90 people performing at the annual event, the show is set to be jam-packed from start to finish with everything from tap to hip-hop.
Along with performances from the Cardiff Superchoir, Nuture, and Rubicon’s full-time students, people can also expect to see their flagship youth group Nubrico, the Riverfront Youth Dance Group, and their flagship street dance group, Nuworx.
And if anyone thought dancing was just for the young, then NuWave will be proving them wrong, with a contemporary dance performance from a group of 60-75-years-olds. The night will also be taking a bit of a multicultural turn, with a performance of Bharata Natyam, a traditional Indian dance.
Who are Rubicon?
Rubicon Dance is a registered charity and community organisation offering dance tuition to all abilities and ages. The organisation, which is based in Splott, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016.
Training and development leader at Rubicon, Tracey Brown says, “I want Rubicon to be a comfortable place where anyone and everyone can come. Our aim is to promote community participation and engagement across both Cardiff and Newport.”

Rubicon Dance is joining forces with the Cardiff Superchoir to host a celebratory evening of song and dance at The Gate Arts Centre.
On 29 November, Rubicon presents…Song & Dance will showcase performances from eight of the organisation’s dance troupes, including their flagship hip-hop group, Nuworx.
The Cardiff Superchoir, a 30-strong group of singing business professionals will open the show, and there will also be a special performance from the semi-professional dance group, Nuture.
Tracey Brown, training and development leader at Rubicon says, “It’s really important that we hold this event every year to celebrate the work of everyone at Rubicon, and this will be the first time we’ve ever held it at The Gate.”
