The popular event returns for its second Yuletide special
Those looking for some alternative festive fun should head to Gwdihw for the return of the Yuletide Ukulele Cabaret.
On 12 December the popular event returns to the Guildford Crescent venue for the second successive year, offering guests a traditional mulled wine and mince pie along with some tongue-in-cheek, seasonally themed ukulele ballards.
“We have a group of regular performers who always entertain,” says organiser and MC for the evening, Nick Canham.
Last year’s Yuletide themed event was Cardiff’s inaugural Ukulele Cabaret and led to five further events throughout 2011, featuring the music of the city’s own ukulele talent and becoming a favourite at Gwdihw.
“At the Ukulele Cabaret, people tend not to take themselves too seriously and there’s a good comic element to the songs,” says Nick.
