A group of young artists collectively named ‘The Modern Alchemists’ are putting on their second underground art exhibition in Cardiff.
The exhibition, called ‘Birth to Death and Hereafter,’ is opening on 16 November with an evening of poetry and performance in the Capitol Arcade Warehouse beneath Queen Street in the city centre.
After their first exhibition was such a success, they decided to put on a second, and even had to turn some artists away. The aim of the event is to display artwork that promises to enchant and evoke in an area that has a grimier feel than a white-walled gallery.
One organiser, Helen Bur, told Alt.Cardiff, “Over 50 artists will be exhibiting which just shows how much art is being made in this city.”
The exhibition’s opening night will run from 6pm to 10pm. The exhibition will then be open daily from 10am to 6pm until 24 November.
