Customers thirsty for real ale

Real ales offered at local festival

Cowbridge residents are celebrating the joys of real ale this weekend, at the Vale of Glamorgan Inn’s Real Ale Festival.

The festival, held alongside the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival, offers 28 real ales at one time and approximately 50 to 55 different beers are sampled through the weekend, all of which are Welsh or from the Welsh borders.

Alistair Sarjeant, Manager and Licensee of the Inn, started by selling a selection of 12 real ales to thirsty customers who were visiting for the Food and Drink Festival.

He says, “Customers were coming out into the alleyway, buying the beer and going back in.  I sold out so quickly I thought it would be a better idea to make it bigger and do it properly.”
