What’s new for Cardiff Wahaca?
The restaurant will carry on with the Wahaca tradition of original design by showcasing Mexico City’s Le Super Demon’s street art.
The new mezzanine bar will have a range of cocktails available, all with a Mexican twist, as well as the Classic Margarita.
The restaurant will accommodate walk-ins, though bookings will be accepted for large groups and parties.
Wahaca, the Mexican market food restaurant, will open its first store outside of London at St David’s on 13 November.
But before the official opening, a van will be making its way to the city to sample the exotic tastes that the Mexican is famed for.
Customers can expect classic sharing dishes such as chicken pipian tacos and black beans and cheese quesadillas, as well as main courses – Platos Fuertes – like a winter vegetable burrito.
The chain is co-owned by the 2005 Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers and inspired after her time spent in the South American country.
She says: “I’m mad about Wales having spent most of my childhood holiday’s at my grandmother’s near Llandeilo.
“It’s a country full of great ingredients and people who really appreciate good food.”
