One Newport restaurant has been celebrating recently after its junior chef scooped a coveted pizza prize.
Lyndon Bradford, junior sous chef at Bacaro, won the South West and Wales regional heat with his original pizza recipe.
Bradford was awarded a prize at the Pizza Chef of the Year competition for his unique take on the classic dish: smoked cheese, yellow pepper sauce, Roquito chilli peppers and prosciutto ham.
He now has his sights set on the national final in London this week, which will see him compete against four other chefs to be crowned UK Pizza Chef of the Year.
Bacaro founder and proprietor, David Pell said proudly, “What is so remarkable is that Lyndon has only been a professional chef for 18 months.”
