Anand George is launching Purple Poppadom, an Indian cuisine restaurant
Anand George, an award winning chef, is opening Purple Poppadom, a restaurant that will create nouvelle Indian cuisine.
Purple Poppadom will open in the first week of December in Cowbridge Road East, Canton bringing with it the style of London, says Anand.
We are looking to create a restaurant that has the same delicious food and ambience of the capital city, Anand explains.
Anand has run restaurants in Cardiff previously and believes the city needs something different and wants to create innovative dishes.
He says, “It’s all about the ingredients. Normally a lot of people try to use spices when you can’t; this restaurant is all about a refined, succulent flavour, using spices to compliment rather than overpower the taste buds.”
