Local businessman George Ikamba was shortlisted for “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” at the 2012 South Wales Business Awards.
His restaurant, Mr G’s Soul Kitchen, with its mix of “tongue-tingling” Caribbean food and its lively atmosphere has proved popular with Cardiff residents.
George Ikamba, or Mr G, said, “I was delighted to be shortlisted for an award and to hear such positive feedback on the night.”
The Soul Kitchen, on Bute Street, serves homemade Caribbean food with intense flavours and generous portions.
The restaurant hosts a number of live music events and themed parties. There are reggae, soul and funk acts lined up, and they will be hosting their first anniversary party at Christmas. They hope for their customers to join their celebrations.
