Drunken Sailor will have its first one-day event at The Gravity Station on 13 December
On waffle dogs: “If you can put a burger between a donut, you can definitely put a sausage in a waffle”
The idea of Drunken Sailor was born on a train.
Jordan Harris: “I kind of felt like JK Rowling when she was on the train and she came up with Harry Potter, I was like a waffle version of JK”
Drunken Sailor, a new waffle pop-up, is revealing its innovative selection of waffles at The Gravity Station 13 December.
Steering the Belgian dessert in a new direction, the waffle assortment is both sweet and savoury. A range of sailor specials offers alcohol based “tot” toppings, from creamy rum sauce to a sweet apple cider cinnamon sauce.
And then there is the waffle dog. Simply put, it’s “like a hotdog on a stick,” says Jordan Harris, creator, “Just because everything tastes better on a stick…And it will be covered in waffle batter.”
Concerning the pop-up culture in Cardiff, it’s not a setback but an encouragement, says Jordan. “People are very promiscuous with their food choices at the moment…They’re very open to trying new things.”
