Cycle Training Wales
If you’re on the lookout for a bike this winter, or to improve your skills in maintaining yours, then Cardiff Cycle Workshop is your first step.
They hold a sale and Dr Bike repair service on the first Saturday of every month, from 10 until 12pm, at their Ely Bridge workshop.
All bikes are fully checked before sales and come with a three month mechanical warranty.
The cycle scheme also offers two kinds of workshops. One is a basic maintenance skills workshop, aimed at commuters and the other is a more advanced course, offering a qualification at the end of it.
Recently, they have been able to offer mountain bike training at their Ely premises, which previously had to be taught on a mountainside.
Cycle Training Wales can be contacted via their website, their Twitter, or by phone on 02920397283.
If you’d like to donate a bike, there are drop-off points in the city, or you can take it to their Ely Bridge workshop.
Cardiff cycle workshop celebrates first birthday with prestigious award
Cardiff Cycle Workshop will celebrate their first birthday this month, after winning a prestigious award.
The company, a project within Cycle Training Wales, recently won the Innovation in Recycling award for their business, which sells refurbished bikes and offers basic maintenance workshops and advance courses.
The project, which is based in Ely Bridge and also has an on-the-spot repair service, has noticed an increase in people wanting a bike for personal use.
Andrew Burns, Cycle Training Wales’s Development Manager, says, “In the current economic climate, a lot of people are thinking they need to use their car less and just want an inexpensive bike to get them to and from work.”
He continues, “The workshop helps people to overcome the barrier of bike ownership.”
