The project, Friends of the Newport ship is calling upon volunteers to help raise £100,000 to showcase the vessel in a new museum, which will benefit the city’s regeneration.
The 15th century ship is the most complete vessel of its kind and was discovered along the banks of the River Usk in 2002 upon the construction of The River Front theatre.
Recognising its worth, the Welsh Government invested £3.5m to save and store the vessel, along with other fundraising events helping to preserve the ship.
Chairman of the project, Phil Cox emphasised the need for more publicity, he stated, “We need people who will volunteer their time and expertise to take the project forward, people who will give generously, who will involve their organisations and inspire others to help us achieve our target.”
