On 28 November, Cardiff Christian church is celebrating five years of street pastors supporting vulnerable people in Cardiff every weekend.
The anniversary event will welcome new street pastors to the Cardiff team of Christian volunteers, who patrol areas such as St Mary’s Street and Mill Lane, between 10pm and 4am, every Friday and Saturday. They offer support, including water and blankets, to anyone in need.
Jackie Bradshaw, 49, is the street pastor team coordinator. Jackie praises their success over the last five years and stresses their need to continue. “People get themselves into vulnerable situations and we are able to make a very real difference for those who set out for a good time, but for one reason or another, their night has not ended well.”
