A local group sustainability project is working hard to keep Cardiff environmentally friendly.
Environmental Champions is a partnership between various local organisations that has been in operation since 2011. It has undertaken many projects to promote sustainability around Cardiff, such as beach cleans and litter picks.
Lots of rubbish is dropped on the floor every day in Cardiff
In January 2013 Cardiff City Council reported that litter had reduced by 7% in the past 6 months, indicating that the group is working.
Future events planned by the group include a trip to Viridor ERF Waste Management Centre on the 27 and 28 of October.
Chloe Lavington, the volunteering coordinator of Environmental Champions says, “The aim of the project is to encourage people to reduce waste and improve sustainability…It provides a source of information for new and existing members of the community.”
