Welsh Women’s Aid will host events publicising violence against women
Welsh Women’s Aid will host a string of events across Wales as part of an international campaign to raise awareness about violence against women
During the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence the charity and its member groups will stage a series of events between White Ribbon Day (25 November) and International Human Rights Day (10 December).
The campaign will also see the launch of the Welsh Assembly’s first Cross-Party Group on Violence Against Women and Children on the 24 November.
Hannah Austin, Welsh Women’s Aid Policy and Campaigns Officer said, “Violence against women is a form of gender inequality and a violation of women’s most basic, fundamental human rights. As such any campaign should start from the framework of equality and human rights.”
