About Bigmoose:
Gary Cloonan (pictured) was the inspiration behind the organisation. Referred to as Moose by all who knew him, Cloonan was an ice hockey player from London. He was an accomplished and well-liked guy, but his life tragically ended in 2007 after he was diagnosed with cancer.
For Gareth Hubback, one of Cloonan’s closest friends, the news was devastating. However, his passing had a silver lining, as it spurred Hubback on to create the charity. It was of course named after Hubback, whose memory lives on through the organisation.

A triathlon for children with disabilities will take place later this month.
Due to take place on 20 December at Cardiff’s National Indoor Athletics Centre, Bigmoose Supertri 2 will give disabled children the chance to take part in a sporting event.
The triathlon comprises a swim, cycle and a run, and every child that takes part will be assisted by at least one volunteer.
The event is the second this year to be held by the Bigmoose, a non-profit organisation that helps children with disabilities.
Organiser Chloe Smith said, “The Supertri is a great chance for disabled children to take part in physical activity in a controlled and safe environment. We’ve already signed up over 100 volunteers, so it should be a great event.”
