Baby clothes are pricey so here’s a few tips to save some cash

Money is among one of the biggest concerns for new dads, and buying things like baby clothes can seem like a huge expense so we’ve compiled our best tips to help you decide where to spend and where to save.

Don’t even bother buying them

We’re not advising to never buy your child clothes but before the baby is even born you may end up drowning in clothes bought for you from parents or grandparents – they’ll make sure your baby has the trendiest threads in the nursery. What they most probably won’t buy for you, however, are the larger items such as a pram or car seat. Save your money to buy these costly items where possible.

Don’t go for the new-born sizes

When you are buying clothes, make sure you don’t buy too many new-born sized clothing. Babies grow quickly and half won’t fit your child within eight weeks, forcing you to spend more money on clothes. Try not to bulk buy these sizes and start buying sizes that gradually get a little bigger.

Babies don’t care about what they wear

This may come as a shock but babies don’t even notice whether they’ve got the latest baby grow on, they just want to be warm. Don’t concern yourself too much with how good your baby looks if money is an issue. Stick to buying the cheaper brands and your baby will never notice whether it’s wearing Gucci or Tesco.
