One of Cardiff’s historic green spaces is in the running for best park in Britain.
Roath Park is the only of the Capital’s parks to be nominated for the Fields In Trust award.
It is now up to the public to vote for their favorite with the winner in Wales shortlisted for the final award.
More than 200 parks have been put forward for the title across the UK, including fourteen in Wales.
Cardiff City Council Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Bob Derbyshire said:
“Ever since Roath Park opened to the public in 1894 it’s been one of the city’s most popular parks. Its boating lake, rose gardens, champion trees, very own rainforest in the Conservatory, as well as its sports facilities, playgrounds and wild gardens make Roath Park a real jewel in the city’s crown.”
The online vote closes on Wednesday 9th November.
