Cardiff residents angry over recycling issues

9 March 2018

Residents across Cardiff are upset after collections were cancelled this week.

More than seven areas across the city have not had their green recycling bags collected for two weeks.

This comes after Storm Emma brought severe weather conditions which disrupted the usual timetable of collections.

Although black bags have been picked up, many streets in the capital are still littered with uncollected green bags.

Cathays resident, George Caulton said he’s worried the lack of collections will attract vermin.

“We’re having to leave our green bags in the back garden, but that only encourages rats, mice, loads of different vermin. It’s making out house not a very nice environment to live in.”

Cardiff Council said full collections will resume this week.
