The owner of a vet shop in the Heath area of Cardiff says he’s lost business from not having any car parking.
Gavin Hill-John’s business Heath Vets is on Whitchurch Road. The road is residential so customers are unable to park there without a permit.
Mr. Hill-John says the lack of business has forced him to move his main operation to Rhiwbina, even though it’s a less central location. He said ‘I don’t believe my customers should travel to the practice by public transport – this would be harmful to the health and safety of the pets.’
Mr. Hill-John says available parking spaces are used from 7am onwards by staff from the nearby University Hospital of Wales.
He says he’s appealed to Cardiff City Council about improving parking conditions directly outside his business.
So far the council have been unavailable for comment.
