{"id":20624,"date":"2018-03-16T16:43:50","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T16:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/?p=20624"},"modified":"2018-03-16T16:43:50","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T16:43:50","slug":"seagull-nightmare-for-cyncoed-residents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/seagull-nightmare-for-cyncoed-residents\/","title":{"rendered":"Seagull &#8216;nightmare&#8217; for Cyncoed residents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Residents are concerned about the behaviour\u00a0of aggressive seagulls in Cyncoed.<\/b><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The gulls have begun building nests ahead of breeding season.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 10 years, residents said they have had cars damaged and bin bags ripped open.<\/p>\n<p>Complaints have been made to Cardiff Council, but it was unavailable for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Moya Campbell has lived in Coed-y-Llyn for more than 30 years. She attaches plastic bags to her car to stop them from landing on it.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Campbell has said better resources are needed to tackle the birds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We need better bags for our recycling,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Even if they give us another bin for recycling, that might help.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Campbell said gull droppings caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to her car.<\/p>\n<p>All species of gulls are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
